PreMixer

The PreMixer serves to fill mobile aircraft deicing units with a premix of water and glycol Type I.

The system is fitted with electrically operated valves where the individual opening of the valves for the water and glycol supply lines determines the mix of water and glycol. To stabilize the glycol flow, a feed pump in the PreMixer ensures that the pressure in the glycol line remains the same even if the pressure on the glycol inlet changes. To make sure that the mix percentage is correct, the flow of water and glycol is measured by means of flowmeters during operation.

The PreMixer includes a display showing the setpoint of the mix, the actual mix, the actual flow and the total mix volume.
