Expanding Opportunities: The Inclusion of Adult Apprentices
In recent years, we have broadened our apprenticeship program to also include adult apprentices. This initiative has allowed us to so far support two current production employees in their journey towards gaining formal vocational qualifications. By providing these opportunities, we aim to foster a more inclusive workforce and ensure that all employees have the chance to develop their skills and advance their careers.
Strengthening Future Workforce through Strategic Partnerships
To further enhance the conditions of the future labor market, Vestergaard Company has entered into a partnership agreement with Lejre Municipality. This collaboration is designed to raise awareness among primary school students about the opportunities in vocational education. The municipality aims to prepare students for future educational pathways, while Vestergaard seeks to cultivate a skilled workforce within the community.
The partnership includes annual visits from Vestergaard representatives to all schools in the municipality, offering students insights into vocational careers. Additionally, we provide increased opportunities for practical work experiences throughout the school year. To support this initiative, we host an annual education and career fair at Vestergaard Company, where local businesses and vocational school advisors participate to inform and guide students about various educational and career options. This event invites all 8th-grade students, along with their parents and teachers, to explore the possibilities that vocational education can offer.
