Sustainable business

Vestergaard Company is a company with customers around the world, and we want to create long term value for them – therefore Vestergaard Company is always dedicated to do business with a high level of integrity. When it comes to national and international legislation as well as industry specific requirements we always comply.

We assess business partners continuously using a formalized business partner review. We also assess our own internal risk yearly. Our values support ethical behavior both in business and in the local community.

All employees regardless of position must always comply with our ethical standards and code of conduct.

Code of conduct

Vestergaard Company’s Code of Conduct is based on the values of Vestergaard Company and applies to all employees, including managers and directors. The code sets standards for employees of Vestergaard Company on ethical behavior and serves as a tool to help understand our policies.

Vestergaard is a global company, but with deep roots in Danish soil and Danish values. Values such as integrity, transparency, fair play and trust are deeply rooted in our company culture and are a natural way of doing business.

To us, it goes without saying that we must always comply with the laws that apply to us. Besides national legislation, we must follow the principles described in this code. This Code describes the role, rights, duties and responsibilities of Vestergaard employees and therefore what behavior stakeholders can expect from us.

Vestergaard fully supports the UN Global Compact’s ten principles. We believe that by incorporating the ten principals into our business operations, policies and strategies and by establishing a culture of integrity, we are upholding our responsibility to the people and planet, while setting the path for future success. We embrace and enact values that support human rights, labor, the environment, and anti-corruption.

Vestergaard employees are strongly encouraged to take action promptly when faced with non-compliance with the Code of conduct. Employees should bring non-compliance to the attention of our internal compliance function or alternatively to his/her superior, who will then take care of the matter.

Supplier code of conduct

We hold our suppliers to the same standards as our employees through our Supplier code of conduct. All suppliers with a spend of more than 500.000 DKK must sign our Supplier code of conduct.

Supplier assessment

Sourcing responsibly is essential to reducing environmental impact, promoting ethical business practices, and driving positive change across the supply chain.

We screen our supplier’s sustainability performance via a sustainability assessment tool based on various ESG parameters. Currently we have screened our top 50 suppliers and have a response rate of 100 %. We score our supplier’s sustainability performance on a scale from 0 to 100 where 100 is a perfect score. Currently the average score weighted by spend is 63. We have set an ambitious target to increase this average to 70 by 2027/28. We have also set a target to increase all suppliers below 31 to a minimum of 31 points by 2027/28.
