Training gives essential knowledge and experience
Highly specialised airport equipment operates under conditions which require special attention to safety. This is fully recognized by operators, in the recruitment process, training and execution of daily handling operations.
Likewise, at Vestergaard, we acknowlege the positive impact which that knowledge and experience has on airport operations, and for years it has been standard Vestergaard practice to offer training for the our equipment: A training course is simply always included in delivery of new equipment. Vestergaard’s superb training facilities (including computer-based simulation tools for the Elephant® Beta series of deicers) allow training to take place at our premises at Gevninge, or – if required – at the customers’ site, upon agreement.
Proper equipment is naturally a good basis for any airport handling operation. And when investing in high-quality GSE, any operator requires equipment which performs safely, efficiently and reliably. Not just while the equipment is new, but also in the long run, for many years after the original purchase. Using Vestergaard equipment and taking advantage of Vestergaard’s renowned service organisation, operational service lifetimes of 25 years or more on the equipment can be achieved.
In addition to extensive warranty programmes, Vestergaard regularly offers inspection or technical overhaul of our customer’s equipment. Normally, inspections and servicing of aircraft deicers are carried out in the summertime, allowing operators to have the equipment ready, with service certificates, from the start of the winter season. The programme is highly flexible, allowing each customer to choose the extent of service from Vestergaard: Large airports with own maintenance specialists may need only occasional specialised consultancy from Vestergaard, whereas smaller airports may order both the summer overhaul and mid-season checks. And whenever Vestergaard assist customers, our technicians will take the time to discuss and explain any details and systems, thereby ensuring exchange of knowledge and expertise, for mutual benefit.
