PPS – Precise Positioning System

The Vestergaard Elephant^® BETA can be supplied with the innovative PPS – Precise Positioning System.

PPS helps constantly ensure the correct, optimal distance between nozzle and aircraft, hence improving safety and reducing workload for the operator.

The underlying motivation for the PPS system is simple thermo-dynamics: With shorter spray distance, the highest possible ADF temperature can be kept, thereby maximizing energy transfer from fluid to aircraft.

The PPS technology, based on proximity sensor measurement, allows operators to consistently ensure the optimal spray distance of typically 1 meter. Compared to e.g. a spray distance of 2 meters, the ADF temperature can be 10°C-40°C higher. Use of the PPS technology can help increase savings – typically up to 20-30%.
