One Man Operation

With the One-Man option, the complete aircraft deicer unit can be driven from the operator’s cabin or the basket, simply by means of a joystick. The deicer will drive according to the position of the lever and the operation of the particular accelerator pedal (or handle, for the open-basket deicers), meaning a certain (low) maximum speed when the basket/cabin is raised, for safety and operator’s comfort.

The brake force can, by means of a brake pedal (or brake handle), be applied progressively, thus ensuring safe and smooth operation. All electrical connections are monitored, and brakes are automatically applied if any sybsystems should malfunction. One-man operation is engaged by means of a switch in the chassis cabin. When switched off, the unit can be operated by two persons, like in an ordinary operation.
